Product Specifications
-
Dimensions: 27 cm × 24 cm (approx. 9½" × 10½")
-
Front Surface: Metallic paper-backed silk. It is gelatin-free and hard-sized (alum-treated) to control bleeding, allowing for sharp ink lines and smooth gradients.
-
Backing: Mounted permanently onto smooth, white-gloss cardstock (approx. 100 lb). This acts as a built-in backing board.
-
Rigidity: These are "Soft Cards"—they have a soft textile feel on the face but a firm, flat support underneath.
Color Descriptions
-
Yellow Gold (YG): A warm, classical antique gold. Ideal for auspicious themes, peonies, birds-and-flowers, and traditional festival pieces that require a rich glow.
-
White Silver (WS): A cool, pearly white-silver. Works beautifully with delicate florals, snow scenes, winter landscapes, and modern minimal designs.
Why Artists Love These Cards
1. True "Ready-to-Paint" Convenience
Unlike traditional silk which requires stretching or backing, these cards are pre-mounted. You can paint, sign, and frame them immediately. They are sturdy enough to be mailed as high-end greeting cards or framed directly without a backing board.
2. Superior Surface Control
The non-absorbent sizing allows you to build smooth gradients and controlled washes without feathering. They are excellent for:
-
Gongbi fine-line florals, birds, and insects.
-
Boneless (mogu) flower painting.
-
Calligraphy or poem panels on a metallic ground.
-
Watercolor, gouache, and acrylic "fusion" styles.
3. Perfect for Classrooms & Workshops
Because they require no prep work, these are the ideal choice for teachers and students who want to focus on brushwork rather than paper preparation.

Usage Tips & Care
-
Storage: Shipped flat. Please store horizontally to keep the silk surface pristine.
-
Surface Prep: Avoid touching the silk with oily fingers. If you notice any "beading" of the water/ink, lightly dust the area with baby powder using a cotton ball to treat the surface.
-
Ink Flow: Adding a tiny drop of alcohol to your brush tip before dipping into ink can help deliver oily ink smoothly onto the metallic surface.
