Our Mulberry Paper #1 Pi Kozo is crafted from authentic mulberry fibers (also known as Pi paper in Chinese, or Kozo/Gampi paper in Japanese), resulting in a refined, exceptionally smooth, and fabric-like texture. With a lightweight thickness of approximately 27gsm–28gsm, this archival-quality paper is both pH-neutral and unsized, offering balanced absorbency and reduced smudging compared to traditional Xuan paper.

Ideal for use with various water-based media—including watercolors and fluid acrylics—this paper brilliantly showcases vivid colors and precise brushstrokes. Highly versatile, Mulberry Paper #1 is especially recommended for Sumi-e (Japanese ink painting), Chinese brush painting, calligraphy, mounting artwork, rubbings, stamping, kite-making, lanterns, window coverings, and creative collage projects.
